AST Receives Eighth Patent
Aviation Safety Technologies, LLC (“AST”) announced that it received its eighth patent on its ground breaking aircraft-connected SafeLand™ fleet technology. On April 2, 2013, AST was notified by the USPTO that United States Patent No. 8412434 was issued for the following: “Method and device of calculating aircraft braking friction and other relating landing performance parameters based on the data received from aircraft’s on board flight data management system.”
AST’s SafeLand™ runway reporting technology uses aircraft data, either computed on board the aircraft or via a networked server, as well as environmental data and a tire/surface algorithm, to deliver total available friction values that are independent of airplane type.
The Company’s other patents to date include the following:
- U.S. Patent 7797095: A method of calculating a true aircraft braking coefficient of the aircraft landing surface
- U.S. Patent No. 7957878: Computer Network for calculating and distributing a true coefficient for aircraft braking
- U.S. Patent No. 8050840: Method of calculating the amount of energy absorbed by aircraft brakes and tires
- Patent No. 8121771: Method of calculating true aircraft braking friction coefficient for a landing surface using a landing aircraft
- Patent No. 8244444: A computer network for calculating and distributing aircraft braking coefficient for a landing surface
